News Coverage of CCMD’s Fire Safety Day on Oct. 16, 2016

Fire Prevention Week was established to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire which occurred in 1871. This tragic fire killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures and scorched over 2,000 acres.

On October 16, 2016, Colorado Centre Metro District spotlighted the fire safety work of first responders in the Colorado Centre Community and reinforced the lifesaving messages associated with the annual theme of Fire Prevention Week.
