IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE DISCOLORED WATER

Please be advised that Colorado Centre Metropolitan District began operation of the New Water Treatment Plant on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. During this testing operation, the water in the District’s mains was flowing at a high velocity. This created a scouring action in the pipes and dislodged fine sediment particles (such as manganese and iron) which had accumulated in the pipes.

Residents and commercial entities may experience rusty brown, black or cloudy water and a temporary drop in the water pressure. Testing operations may continue on Thursday and Friday, March 17th and 18th. If discoloration occurs, open the cold water tap to full flow until the water runs clear. In some situations, this may take 10 to 15 minutes. It is also advised that you make sure your water is clear before doing laundry or other projects which discolored water could cause problems.

It is advisable to refrain from drinking or cooking with the water until the discoloration disappears.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding during this critical testing operation.
